Default BDS overpriced?

Is it too expensive? Do you think it will go down and by how much? Is it ugly? Discuss the BDS.

Also for clarification purposes BDS=Bone dragon staff.....although I will permit you to talk about blue dragon swords...

BDS. You'll never find a more wretched item of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

I farmed one, very cheap that way.

BDS = Bone Dragon Staff

Overpriced? It's a player driven economy. Tell that to the horde of rich idiots who are "willingly" paying obscene amounts for something that can be farmed as easily as Cathedral of Flames. We all know how pitiful the value of drops is in that run.

Won't be, as more people start farming SoO. They'll be like the booby prize of CoF (the damn green hammer)

E-Peen of the moment, I suppose.

Players get items for their rarity instead of there beauty, perfect example is the fugly crystaline sword.
BDS are a VERY rare drop from a 3 lvl dungeons that even expereinced runners take 30-40 minutes to run under optimal settings. To add to that, it can come in 21 different attributes it can drop in, then they range from req 9-13. So this just makes specific popular attribute q9's (currently most popular is prot) very rare and worth alot of money. I'd say the current price may be high, BUT all high end items are getting highers.

An item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That's the objective answer.

The subjective answer is that it's fairly ugly although impressively sized. It's even more ugly in the context of a monk, one of Dwayna's holy, life-giving servants who doesn't suit a giant, boney, evil-looking staff of death.

I'd like on for my necro but I won't pay current prices.

People want rare stuff. In particular, people want rare stuff that other people find desirable/envious. The Bone Dragon Staff happens to be popular at the moment.

Ectos have been ridiculously easy to farm for quite some time now.

A Bone Dragon Staff of a specific attribute is much rarer than items with similar drop frequencies from similarly difficult dungeons (eg: Emerald Blade, Kathandrax).

Upshot: many people have lots of ectos with which to compete to buy these scarce, desirable items. It follows that the item has a high price.

I had one of those - a req11 or 12 - I didn't know they were particularly rare. I think I merched it.

I'ma call BOOLSHEEEEET on that one. Look in Ventari and see how many bone dragon staves are for sale, and compare that to how many emerald blades there are in there. There are fools with 5-6 BDS's and people still think they're worth 3-figure ecto prices. Ridiculous.

It's ugly, it's poorly done(read: plain), and doesn't go with anything but a Male necromancer.
